Terms of service

1. What the service does

Renderpaper converts an HTML template and JSON data into a PDF. You send a template and data; we return a PDF. Templates you save are stored so that later requests need only send data.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys secret. Anything done with your API keys counts as done by you. Keys are shown once at creation and stored only as hashes, so we cannot recover a lost key — revoke it and create another.

You must give a working email address. It is the only way we can reach you about the service.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to produce or distribute unlawful material, to impersonate anyone, or to generate documents intended to deceive — forged invoices, receipts, statements or identity documents. Do not attempt to reach other customers' data, to escape the rendering sandbox, or to read internal network resources through a submitted template.

Rendering is rate limited per account. Deliberately working around that limit, for example by spreading load across many accounts, is a breach of these terms.

4. Price and payment

The subscription costs $29 per month and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the period already paid for. We do not refund partial months.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Prices are exclusive of any VAT or sales tax, which is added where applicable.

5. Availability

We do not offer a service level agreement. The service is provided as it is, and may be unavailable for maintenance, upstream failures, or reasons outside our control. Do not place it on a path where a few minutes of downtime causes you harm you cannot absorb.

6. Your content

Your templates and data remain yours. We store templates so we can render them, and process the data you send only to produce the document you asked for. We do not use your templates or data to train anything, and we do not share them except with the infrastructure providers listed in the privacy notice.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss of data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the documents you generate. A PDF produced from your template and your data is your document, not ours.

8. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from the billing page, which removes your templates and keys and cancels any subscription. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 3, and will tell you why where we lawfully can.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially reduces what you get, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that counts as accepting the change.
